Wow! That is GREAT News!! We have a great new slate ...THANK YOU to all the NEW canidates running! As far as the last 2 incumbents Mr. MacArevey and Ms. Jones. Please reconsider your decision to try to get re-elected!! Ms. Jones I know you only have done 1 term but I feel this is not for you!

Mr. MacArevey, You have done sooo much for the kids of this district and we all thank you! You were a great 9th grade English teacher, Principal and BOE member. however as in the world of politics you made a few bad choices and you EXPECT us to allow you to stay??? Please follow Mr. Chesser into retirement and spare yourself the fact you WILL be defeated in the election...please don't leave that way!!!

Thank you!

I hope and pray that three new members are elected....

I am hoping the ones who stepped up to the plate are doing it because they feel they can make a positive difference, not make more turmoil.

These positions need to be filled with open minded people willing to work with the BOE & Superintendent.

Remember, this position needs to be filled with someone willing to work for our children, Only!

I will be there, I wouldn't miss it for the world. We have some outstanding candidates. I am so excited and grateful to our new candidates. I must say though that I am surprised that Mr. MacArevey and Mrs. Jones are running again. They are very nice people, but I for one have lost faith in their ability to serve us as BOE members. It's time for a clean house...at least one to two rooms at a time. I hope to see a huge turnout on May 12th.

Let's not forget the BOE members running for re-election that supported Dr. Furlong over Charles Dedrick. He was good enough for the Capital Region BOCES, but not East Greenbush???? Shame on you EG BOE. Read the article below from the 4/16 Times Union:

COLONIE -- Charles Dedrick, who for the last nine years has led the Cohoes school system, has been named district superintendent of the Capital Region BOCES.

Dedrick, who will earn $162,762, was chosen April 9 by the BOCES board. He will start on June 9.
He replaces Barbara Nagler, who retired a year ago. Since then, James Baldwin, superintendent at the Rensselaer County-based Questar III BOCES, has been overseeing the Capital Region group along with Gerald Carozza as chief operating officer.
As district superintendent, Dedrick will serve as the chief executive officer of BOCES, as well as the regional representative of the Commissioner of Education. He will administer and supervise areawide educational services requested by member school districts in Albany, Schenectady, Schoharie and part of Saratoga counties. He also will represent the state Education Department, helping interpret and implement state education laws.
Lynne Lenhardt, one of the BOCES board members, said Dedrick's "forward-thinking" philosophy as well as his experience and leadership skills made him well-suited to the job.
Prior to his superintendent position in Cohoes, Dedrick worked as superintendent for the Green Island School District. Before that, he was principal and a social studies teacher there.
As superintendent and business manager at Green Island, Dedrick successfully dealt with the reduction in the community's tax base with the closing of the Ford Motor Company Plant and established the first free and reduced meal program in the district.
Dedrick is working toward a doctorate in educational leadership from Russell Sage Graduate School. He has master's degrees in educational administration and policy studies and in developmental reading from the University at Albany, and a bachelor's degree in political science from Excelsior College.
He also has completed the Superintendents' Academy and Post-Graduate Superintendents' Academy through the New York State Council of School Superintendents.
